Editors Luc Derycke and Sandra Van De Veire present an exploration on how contemporary Belgian Fashion Design was shaped during the 1990's.

Belgian Fashion Design began to receive great international recognition following the success of an infamous group of six designers, often referred to by the press as 'The Antwerp Six'. Beginning in London, 1986 each of the members of The Antwerp Six (including Dries Van Noten, Dirk Bikkembergs, Dirk Van Saene, Ann Demeulemeester, Walter Van Beirendonck and Marina Vee) presented their first collections, which very quickly propelled them into the media and put the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp on the map.

This book examines many of the Designers that have contributed to the contemporary fashion landscape in Belgium. Each designer is given a dedicated section, investigating their work in detail. Alongside the Antwerp Six, the book also features designers such as Raf Simons, Bernhard Willhelm and AF Vandervorst among many more.
