Bodyworks begins with a series of black and white portraits photographed by Marcus Letherdale featuring artists such as Andy Warhol, Pat Cleveland, Tina Chow and Lisa Lyon. Followed by Miyake's Infamous fiberglass bodice that is deservedly presented as a sculpture. Bodyworks visually outlines Miyake's exploration and fascination with movement and form of the body. Including his exploration of use of new materials such as plastic, paper and wire to create clothes that can perform both on the body and on their own.
